Violin 4/4
Maker: Prokop (a family dynasty of Czech masters). A Czech handcrafted instrument from the early 20th century.

This violin is an excellent example of Czech craftsmanship, showing the distantly profound influence of the German classic school of Jacob Stainer.

The wood exhibits a modest ray figure, suggesting the maker used local maple. The spruce shows slightly wider grain towards the edges.

Restoration work carried out on the top plate: left upper bout near the neck block, right lower f-hole, left lower f-hole. This restoration was performed in the monastery workshop.

Condition is satisfactory, nearly ideal. A collector's instrument. Features the original label.

Sound characteristic: orchestral.
Varnish: even (almost everywhere), shellac.
Color: dark honey, dark golden-brown.
